First Presbyterian Church

Client: First Presbyterian Church

Architect Partner: Lincoln A. Poley, Architect

Project Specifics: The project involved a number of major elements: a 9,000 sq. ft., three-level classroom addition, a new entry addition, extensive interior remodeling, an update to handicap accessibility and a complete rebuild of the existing parking lot.

Challenges: The need to minimize the impact on existing school and church operations while performing major construction was crucial. Public safety and noise control were also important issues, as the church was located in an urban setting with close proximity to a neighborhood. The integration of new work within the existing historical structure presented an additional challenge—one that required historical accuracy with respect to brick matching.

Cost: $2,500,000
